Job summary

Motion Industries, a part of Genuine Parts Company, in the Cedar Rapids area seeks a Senior Customer Service Representative to respond to complex customer inquiries, provide quotes, and process orders to meet customer expectations.

You will develop relationships with customers, guide less experienced representatives, and help improve service processes while ensuring accurate order entry and pricing within company guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and five (5) or more years of related experience.
• Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and listening.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
• Strong product knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Responds to complex customer inquiries regarding products, provides quotes, and handles order entry.
• Places customer orders via telephone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk-in (counter sales).
• Influences Motion Industries' gross profit through negotiating the sale price and purchase price within parameters.
• May adjust non-contract customer pricing to meet customer demands while maximizing profit.
• Builds customer relationships to drive repeat business and repeat orders.
• Orders items to maintain appropriate inventory levels for customers.
• Expedites backorders and prepares orders for shipment.
• Sourcing products in branch, DC, or supplier inventories.
• Determines cost-effective shipping method for orders.
• May handle customer returns.
• Provides coaching and direction to less experienced Representatives.
• Assists less experienced Representatives with addressing customer needs.
• May be responsible for quality and/or safety in the branch.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
