Job summary

The Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a CORRECTIONAL SENTENCE TECHNICIAN - F/C at Wakulla Correctional Institution to accurately assess and classify inmates based on needs, risks and behaviors, ensuring proper housing and program placements to promote safety and rehabilitation. This is a non-telework, on-site role reporting to the Classification Department.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High school diploma or its equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Review commitment documents and calculate jail time credits; update release dates.
• Coordinate with Public Defenders, State Attorneys, Sheriffs, and Court Clerks to correct sentence documents.
• Verify inmate IDs in OBIS and ensure sentence details are accurate.
• Review new commitments to assign inmate numbers and recalculate release dates; inform Central Office.
• Collaborate with Central Office to identify repeat offenders and document post-release violations.
