Tetra Tech, Inc. seeks a Clean Water Act Programs Scientist/Engineer to lead and support water-resources and policy projects from our Fairfax, Virginia office.

You will develop program strategies, oversee permitting, standards, and regulatory work, and mentor junior staff as you collaborate with federal, state, tribal, and private clients. The role emphasizes technical writing, regulatory analysis, and effective stakeholder communication in a dynamic environment, with hybrid or remote options

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, ecology, civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state Clean Water Act (CWA) legislation and regulations.
• Experience with CWA program development, water quality standards, environmental policy, watershed planning, and permitting.

Responsabilités

• Develop technical analyses supporting water pollution-reduction program development at federal, state, and local levels.
• Support clients in identifying Clean Water Act compliance options.
• Estimate effectiveness and cost of pollution-control options.
• Provide input to support clean water regulation and policy development.
• Review and improve CWA program implementation approaches and processes.
