AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, is seeking a Claims Specialist to evaluate and manage complex Commercial E&O claims, including Public Entity and Entertainment matters. You will partner with management, Practice Leaders and external counsel to develop effective strategies and protect client interests.

Qualifications

• JD or bachelor’s degree and/or relevant professional experience in claims handling, legal practice or a related field.
• Experience handling Professional Liability claims and/or practicing law, including managing, negotiating and resolving disputes or complex claims.
• Licensing: Required insurance adjuster licenses, or the ability to complete company-provided course and obtain licenses promptly after starting.
• Analytical judgment: Ability to evaluate third-party claims in litigation and guide matters toward resolution based on best available action.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication, collaboration, presentation and advocacy skills with various stakeholders.
• Organization and execution: Fast-paced environment, multi-tasking, prioritization and quality balance.
• Integrity: Commitment to professionalism and ethics.
• Leadership: Sets a high bar for performance, engages others, and supports development.
• Collaboration: Build productive relationships across insureds, brokers, claim handlers and underwriters, in hybrid/remote settings.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage assigned Commercial E&O claims, setting resolution strategies with support from Claims management.
• Evaluate and manage complex claims within authority, applying litigation management and coverage analysis.
• Collaborate with Claims Managers on large losses and engage external vendors when needed.
• Partner with retained counsel to develop effective and cost-efficient litigation strategies.
• Manage claim-related expenses in line with best practices and participate in QA reviews.
• Identify process improvements and embed new practices across the team.
• Support Underwriters with policy review and drafting and participate in external business development.
• Coordinate communications with underwriting, brokers, reinsurers and vendors to deliver high-level client service.
• Produce internal reporting and monitor liability and coverage trends following AXA XL processes.
• Coach less experienced colleagues and model best claims practices.
