Job summary

AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, seeks an Excess Casualty Claims Handler to manage and resolve high-exposure XL claims with leadership support.

You will collaborate with underwriting, defense counsel and regional leaders to drive claims to resolution, assess coverage, and pursue cost-efficient litigation strategies while upholding the highest standards of integrity and client service.

Qualifications

• Broad excess casualty claims experience with high exposure and complex files.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders at various levels.
• Collaborative approach with insured, brokers, claim handlers, underwriters and legal counsel.
• Ethical conduct and high professionalism.
• Education: Bachelor's degree required; JD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned claims across jurisdictions, evaluate liability and damages and set case strategy with leadership.
• Analyze coverage under AXA XL policy and obtain determinations from underlying carriers.
• Maintain communications with carriers and defense counsel to protect insured and AXA XL interests.
• Partner with counsel on effective and cost-efficient litigation strategies.
• Assist underwriters with policy drafting and renewal discussions; present recommendations to senior management.
• Coordinate communications with underwriting, brokers, reinsurers and external vendors for high-quality service.
• Produce internal reporting and ensure reserves align with best-practice guidelines.
• Identify and report on emerging liability and coverage trends.
