Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist focused on Miscellaneous Medical Facilities and Long-Term Care professional liability to manage a book of claims through life-cycle from investigation to resolution.

The role requires 5+ years of claims or legal experience with medical professional liability and strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Remote candidates may be considered with periodic office travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years claims/legal experience in professional liability
• Experience litigating Professional Liability claims (MMF/LTC) preferred
• Strong analytical, negotiation and written/verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Analyze MMF/LTC Professional Liability claims from first notice of loss through resolution
• Establish reserves for indemnity and expense within authority; review regularly for adequacy
• Make recommendations to set reserves for claims outside authority
• Prepare comprehensive reports; identify trends to management and underwriting
• Manage litigation with counsel; adhere to guidelines including budgets and bills
• Participate in mediations/arbitrations and meetings with brokers, risk managers, and reinsurers
