Job summary

Arbella Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Claims Adjuster to investigate and settle first and third-party material damage, WC, PIP and BI claims under minimal supervision. The role involves coordinating with legal counsel, negotiating settlements, and guiding new staff through onboarding.

Responsibilities include timely case activity, contacting insureds and witnesses, evaluating coverage and damages, and supporting subrogation efforts while ensuring compliant reserve and litigation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive Claim Adjuster experience.
• Experience handling PIP and BI.
• Sound experience in Commercial Lines.
• State licensing requirements preferred (RI, NH, CT).
• Valid driver's license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Timely completion of all case activities, maximizing customer service and minimizing net loss payout.
• Contacts insureds, claimants and witnesses for loss information and may visit locations to inspect facts.
• Inputs and retrieves information using the automated claims system and generates correspondence.
• Evaluates case facts determining coverage, liability and reserves, and reports on settlement.
• Interprets medical reports to determine applicability to the claim; monitors medical billings and pays accordingly.
• Negotiates settlements with individuals, attorneys and other carriers within authority.
• Pursues subrogation and may arrange salvage for maximum recovery.
• Prepares detailed scope of damages on property losses and brings to resolution.
• Assists in selection/evaluation of experts as needed.
• Manages litigation and ensures coverages are not exceeded; informs attorney about case direction.
• Will participate in special projects or training programs.
• Will assist in training Claims Service Specialists III and below.
