Job summary

Arbella Insurance Group is seeking a claims adjuster to investigate and resolve first and third party damage, including PIP and BI claims, under minimal supervision. Responsibilities include coordinating with legal counsel, mentoring new staff, and ensuring timely case progress with strong customer service.

You will contact insureds, witnesses and collect information, evaluate coverage and negotiate settlements within authority, with opportunities in Commercial Lines and potential subrogation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive claim adjuster experience.
• Proven success in handling PIP and BI.
• Sound experience in Commercial Lines.
• Where applicable, pass the state licensing requirements (RI, NH, CT).
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve first and third party damage and BI/PIP claims.
• Coordinate with legal counsel during litigation to ensure favorable resolution.
• Mentor new employees during onboarding to facilitate integration.
• Timely completion of case activities with focus on customer service.
• Contact insureds, claimants and witnesses to gather information.
• Inputs and retrieves information using the automated claims system and prepares correspondence.
• Evaluate coverage, liability, and reserves; report on settlements.
• Negotiate settlements within granted authority; pursue subrogation and salvage as needed.
• Prepare detailed scope of damages on property losses and assist in selecting experts.
• Support training of junior staff and keep management informed of activities.
