Job summary

Elevate Legal Talent in Los Angeles County seeks a Senior Claims Litigation Attorney for a 3-6 month engagement, onsite or remote. You will lead tort litigation matters from inception to resolution, handling personal injury, property damage, and business loss claims.

You will also advise business clients on litigation strategy, risk management, and operational impacts, and supervise outside counsel for overflow or high-exposure cases. Start ASAP with a competitive $75–$100 hourly rate.

Qualifications

• J.D. from a nationally recognized law school.
• Active California Bar membership (or ability to become admitted).
• 9+ years of litigation experience across law firms, in-house, or government.

Responsibilities

• Lead counsel in tort litigation matters involving personal injury, property damage, and business loss claims.
• Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trial, appeals, and ADR.
• Advise business clients regarding litigation strategy, risk management, and operational impacts.
• Direct and manage outside counsel when retained for overflow, specialty matters, or high-exposure cases.
• Collaborate on cross-functional projects and legal initiatives.

Job description

Elevate is partnering with a leading infrastructure and services organization, to identify a Senior Claims Litigation Attorney. The successful candidate will join a growing litigation team supporting an increasing volume of cases while partnering closely with business stakeholders and legal leadership.

Type/Duration: 3-6 month

Location: Onsite or Remote in Los Angeles County, California

Start Date: ASAP

Salary Range: $75-100 hourly

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as lead counsel in tort litigation matters involving personal injury, property damage, and business loss claims.
• Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trial, appeals, and alternative dispute resolution.
• Advise business clients regarding litigation strategy, risk management, and operational impacts.
• Direct and manage outside counsel when retained for overflow, specialty matters, or high-exposure cases.
• Collaborate on cross-functional projects and legal initiatives.

Qualifications:

• J.D. from a nationally recognized law school.
• Active California Bar membership in good standing (or ability to become admitted in California may be considered.)
• 9+ years of litigation experience from a law firm, in-house legal department, and/or government agency.
• Strong experience handling civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Experience with tort litigation, including personal injury, property damage, or business loss claims.
• Ability to independently manage cases and oversee outside counsel.

Nice to Haves:

• Utility, energy, or regulated industry experience.
• Experience interacting with federal, state, or local regulatory agencies.
• Experience handling wildfire litigation, major casualty matters, or utility claims litigation. (Per client discussion notes.)
• Top academic credentials.
