Job summary

Jobtailor in Florida is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Manager to oversee a large, highly complex property and casualty claims portfolio. You will lead investigations to confirm coverage and liability, analyze settlements and reserves, and coordinate arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as needed.

The role requires clear communication with insureds, claimants, and external partners and entails decisive payment authorization within authority limits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 13 years of experience in property and casualty claims handling.
• Commercial Claims Litigation Experience preferred.
• Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional designation preferred, such as Associate in Claims (AIC).
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Expert knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling procedures.
• Knowledge of industry laws and regulations.
• Advanced ability to organize and prioritize caseloads.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships and lead negotiations.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Manage a large inventory of complex claims to evaluate compensability and liability.
• Lead investigations to confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability, and damages.
• Analyze and negotiate settlements and reserves within prescribed authority.
• Attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as needed.
• Communicate complex coverage and settlement information to insureds, claimants, and external partners.
• Authorize payments within assigned authority limits and ensure timely disbursement.
• Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.
• Provide performance and coaching support to staff as applicable.
• Participate in talent selection, development, and performance management decisions for direct reports as applicable.
• Perform other assigned duties.
