Job summary

RLI Insurance Company in Washington state is seeking an experienced claims professional to lead umbrella and liability investigations with a focus on complex coverage and optimization of results.

The role offers a base pay range of $80,897 to $115,682, with a comprehensive Total Rewards package including ESOP, 401(k), generous PTO and flexible/hybrid work arrangements to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of legal or technical claims experience.
• Experience handling large exposure third-party liability claims on primary/excess basis.
• Strong knowledge of umbrella/excess handling and management of outside counsel.

Responsibilities

• Proactively handle Personal Umbrella Liability claims with focus on investigation and monitoring of primary carrier activity.
• Investigate and analyze complex coverage issues and write coverage letters as appropriate.
• Complete timely investigations into liability and damages for early exposure recognition.
• Focus on claims resolution with timely liability investigations and damage evaluations and reserve setting.
• Handle claims in accordance with RLI's Best Practices.
