Job summary

RLI Corp. is seeking an experienced Claim Examiner IV for Personal Umbrella claims (auto, premises, and personal liability) in multiple locations including Atlanta, GA.

The role emphasizes proactive investigation, coverage analysis and coordinated efforts with primary carriers and defense counsel. The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant claims experience, including large exposure third-party liability handling and knowledge of multi-state case law.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 6+ years of legal or technical claims experience.
• Experience handling large exposure third-party liability claims on a primary/excess basis.
• Strong knowledge of Florida, California, New York and Texas case law and procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Experience coordinating with primary carriers and defense counsel on umbrella/excess claims.

Responsibilities

• Proactively handle Personal Umbrella Liability claims (auto, premises, personal liability) with focus on investigation, evaluation and monitoring of primary carrier activity.
• Investigate and analyze complex coverage issues and write coverage letters as appropriate.
• Complete thorough liability and damages investigations for early exposure recognition.
• Set reserves and drive claims resolution in line with Best Practices.
