Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Claims Analyst to handle complex and high exposure bodily injury and property damage claims within Ryder’s self-administered liability program.

The role involves investigation, adjustment, and directing defense counsel, independent adjusters, experts, and other vendors in claim-handling processes. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of casualty claims experience and active adjuster licenses for various states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 7+ years in casualty claims.
• Strong claim technical skills required.
• Adjuster licenses required for various States.
• Licenses expected within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and adjusts claims, directs outside defense counsel, independent adjusters, experts, and other vendors.
• Assists Claim Manager in identifying exposures and recommends solutions.
• Must understand laws and regulations governing Property and Casualty claims in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico.
• Alerts Claim Manager to changes in laws that could impact Ryder’s liability program.
• Interacts with field operations, legal counsel, safety managers, customers, carriers, and third-party claimants.
• Interacts with Law Department on significant cases and updates field operations on claim status.
• Supervises outside vendors for investigations, cost containment, experts, and litigation management.
• Routinely communicates with primary/excess carriers and reinsurers on files meeting thresholds.
• Assists Claims Manager when the manager is out of the office and helps team on technical issues.
• Sets reserves to reflect probable ultimate payout based on file developments.
• Investigates and resolves complex and high exposure claims against Ryder and its insured customers.
