Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking an Experienced Civil / Water Resources Engineer or Scientist to join our Oakland or Walnut Creek offices. You will work on complex municipal and public-sector projects, including green stormwater infrastructure and urban drainage, through planning, design, and implementation.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of relevant experience, a civil engineering degree, and professional registration or the ability to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or closely related field (required)
• Advanced degree preferred
• Professional registration (PE/PG/CPESC/CPSWQ) or ability to obtain soon (preferred)
• 7+ years in civil/water resources engineering or related field (required)
• Experience with green stormwater infrastructure and LID projects (preferred)
• Knowledge of CA stormwater regulations, NPDES, MRP (preferred)
• Strong technical writing and client-facing deliverable skills (required)
• Willingness to travel to client sites (required)
• Field work and overnight travel may be required (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Develop civil and water resources plans, specs, estimates, and design docs for municipal stormwater and GSI projects
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and stormwater evaluations
• Prepare construction drawings, specs, schedules, and QA/QC deliverables
• Support NPDES permit implementation, MRP compliance, and permit reviews
• Conduct field investigations related to drainage facilities and ADA upgrades
• Coordinate with clients, agencies, vendors, and internal teams for project execution
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables for multiple projects
• Support feasibility studies and grant-funded stormwater projects with concept designs
• Assist with construction management, SWPPP monitoring, and safety planning
• Drive to project sites as needed
