Job summary

Confidential Search in East San Diego County, CA seeks an Estimator with 5+ years in civil/heavy civil or underground utilities. You’ll price earthwork, utilities, and paving and prepare competitive bids for public agencies and private developers. Strong Excel and estimating-tool skills are essential.

Role requires commuting to an East San Diego County office, with base salary in the range listed and a benefits package including medical/dental/vision and 401(k).

Qualifications

5+ years estimating experience in civil/heavy civil or underground utilities.
Experience with government and public works bidding and private development bids.
Proficiency with listed estimating tools and Excel.

Responsibilities

Take-offs for earthwork, utilities, trenching, paving and concrete.
Build unit costs from labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor quotes.
Prepare bids following prevailing wage and procurement rules.
Negotiate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
Attend pre-bid meetings and bid reviews, meet deadlines.
Collaborate with PMs, engineers, field teams on constructability and VE.
