Job summary

Kennedy Jenks is seeking a licensed Civil Engineer with a structural focus in Northern California to lead design and consulting services for water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the United States.

The role emphasizes life-safety, constructability, and long-term performance of facilities such as pump stations, reservoirs, treatment plants, tanks, and clarifiers, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and using BIM and digital delivery tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering focus (ABET accredited).
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required in California; SE preferred.
• 8+ years of consulting engineering experience focused on structural design.

Responsibilities

• Lead design: Develop concrete, steel, wood, masonry, and composite solutions for infrastructure projects.
• Prepare design deliverables: Produce structural calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Analyze infrastructure systems: Design and evaluate treatment plant buildings, tanks, clarifiers, pump stations, piping supports, and existing structures for seismic regions.
• Support construction-phase services: Provide engineering input during construction, including field observation and coordination.
• Collaborate across disciplines: Work with civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and construction professionals.
• Use digital delivery tools: Apply BIM and analysis tools for planning through construction.
