Job summary

Atwell, LLC in Dallas, TX seeks a licensed Civil/Structural Engineer (PE) to lead civil and structural design for oil and gas infrastructure. You will develop construction documents, coordinate across disciplines, and ensure compliance with codes from concept through construction.

You will mentor junior engineers and monitor schedules and budgets to deliver quality results. Projects include pipelines, terminals, compressor stations, and processing facilities, with a focus on reinforced concrete

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 7+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering for oil and gas facilities or similar industrial infrastructure.
• Proficient in structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, RISA, SAP2000, or similar.
• Working knowledge of CAD tools including AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor, Navisworks, or Tekla Structures is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of design codes: AISC, ACI, ASCE, API, IBC.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Lead civil and structural engineering design for oil and gas infrastructure projects (pipelines, stations, terminals).
• Develop construction documents, including structural plans and framing details for steel and concrete structures.
• Support ductwork system design and coordination with piping, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
• Conduct structural analysis under wind, seismic, blast, and equipment loads per applicable codes.
• Review and approve calculations, drawings, and reports prepared by internal teams and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate structural requirements across project phases.
• Perform field visits to verify conditions and gather site data.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and support team development.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations; ensure on-time delivery.
• Support QA/QC procedures and best practices.
