Job summary

We Search People partners with a leading civil/site development contractor in Atlanta, GA, seeking a skilled Civil Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations across active projects. You will coordinate subcontractors, crews, equipment, and materials, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and quality standards.

The role requires 5+ years in civil supervision, fluency with plans and specs, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Civil Superintendent.
• Strong background in civil construction, site development, or heavy civil projects.
• Experience with grading, excavation, underground utilities, storm drainage, paving, and/or concrete.
• Strong understanding of civil construction means and methods.
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans and specifications.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors, crews, equipment, and field operations.
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, and site logistics.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA certification and relevant safety training preferred.
• Experience within the Atlanta/Georgia market is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day field operations across active civil/site development projects.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, crews, equipment, and material deliveries.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with quality standards.
• Read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and project documents.
• Coordinate sitework activities including grading, excavation, utilities, drainage, paving, and concrete.
• Monitor project progress, manpower, productivity, and resource requirements.
• Work closely with Project Managers, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and clients.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, safety, and site conditions.
• Coordinate construction sequencing, scheduling, logistics, and daily field activities.
• Identify and resolve field issues that could impact project schedule or budget.
• Maintain daily reports, documentation, and project records.
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with OSHA and company safety requirements.
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and project stakeholders.
