Job summary

Wendel is seeking a Senior Civil / Site Engineer to join our Site Development Services Group with offices in Albany, NY and other upstate locations. You will lead civil/site projects from concept through construction, coordinating with owners, municipalities, contractors, and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License in New York State or reciprocity.
• 10+ years of civil/site engineering experience.
• Site plan design, utility design, grading and drainage design, stormwater management, hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, land development permitting.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D & HydroCAD.
• Excellent communication, technical writing, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of civil/site engineering projects from concept through construction.
• Prepare and oversee site plans, grading plans, utility design, drainage studies, stormwater reports, and contract documents.
• Serve as Project Manager for multiple concurrent civil/site development projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and client expectations.
• Act as the primary contact for clients, contractors, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Review calculations, reports, specifications, and design documents for quality and accuracy.
• Represent Wendel at client meetings, public presentations, and agency reviews.
• Lead QA/QC reviews and provide technical oversight for deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and staff, fostering growth and excellence.
• Support business development and client relationships across New York State.
• Ensure compliance with DEC stormwater requirements and SEQR processes.
