Job summary

Benesch in Franklin or Nashville, TN seeks a Senior Civil Site Designer to lead civil site and land development projects. The role collaborates with engineers, PMs, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex design work with high quality and technical rigor.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of civil site design experience, strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills, and a track record of independent delivery and mentorship in a consulting setting. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive civil site design experience.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, codes, standards, and permitting.
• Experience preparing and reviewing civil construction documents and drawings.
• Ability to independently manage design assignments and meet schedules.
• Experience mentoring developing designers and coordinating with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and production of civil site and land development plans for multiple projects.
• Perform site layout, grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, erosion control, and related design activities.
• Develop detailed design plans, profiles, details, specifications, and construction documents.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to generate high-quality design deliverables.
• Review plans for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
• Identify design challenges and propose practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Coordinate design efforts with PMs, engineers, surveyors, architects, and others.
• Participate in client meetings, site visits, and construction activities as needed.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers.
