Job summary

Pinpoint Precision Engineering in Illinois is seeking a seasoned Resident Engineer to lead construction management for highway and bridge projects. You will supervise site activities, maintain records, coordinate with contractors, and serve as the client’s main contact.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and 5+ years inspection experience, with strong communication and contract interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction on highway and/or roadway projects.
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to the project.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate with contractors and negotiate change orders.
• Be the key contact with the client and subconsultants.
• Monitor progress against the construction schedule.
• Review contractor progress reports and inform PM and client if delays occur.
• Direct and monitor field inspectors and office engineers.
• Oversee field site activities and provide technical advice on construction and design.
