Job summary

HK Contractors, a CRH Company, is seeking a Civil Construction Quality Control Manager in Idaho Falls to lead QC for asphalt, quarry, and recycling operations. You will drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement while coordinating with plants, engineering, and sales to meet demanding specs.

The role demands WAQTC/AASHTO certifications, 5 years of testing experience, and 3+ years of supervisory leadership, with a focus on regulatory compliance and KPI management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• WAQTC and AASHTO qualification certificates in all areas of the field.
• Five years’ experience in testing (WAQTC and AASHTO).

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing QC team aligned with the company’s core values.
• Champion a culture of safety, aiming for zero incidents across all QC operations.
• Maintain and enhance QC/QA processes to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Oversee all quality control activities for hot mix asphalt (HMA) and aggregate production, ensuring adherence to specifications at all jurisdictional levels.
• Promote awareness of KPIs and cost control measures.
• Foster strong communication channels across business units to support product quality and customer service.
• Interface with internal and external stakeholders to meet material submittal and testing deadlines.
• Review and approve regional mix designs, balancing cost-efficiency, feasibility, and quality.
• Provide guidance to paving teams on process adjustments to meet specifications.
• Manage employee performance through coaching, feedback, recognition, and disciplinary action as needed.
• Maintain current QC/QA certifications and ensure compliance with MSHA and OSHA regulations.
• Ensure laboratory equipment and reference materials are properly maintained and calibrated.
• Mentor team members in technical, operational, and supervisory areas.
