Job summary

HVEA Engineers seeks a Project Engineer with 5–10 years of experience to support transportation design in our Beacon, NY and Chestnut Ridge, NY offices. You will work with clients, mentor staff, and help manage budgets and schedules for complex projects.

Responsibilities include developing design documents, QA/QC, and delivering high-quality engineering work while representing the firm at meetings and industry events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
• 5–10 years of relevant project design experience in transportation engineering.
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
• Active in industry organizations and public outreach experience.
• Ability to manage contracts, schedules and QA/QC.

Responsibilities

• Assists Project Manager with development of project deliverables and quality management.
• Develops designs, specifications, plans, and cost estimates for design documents.
• Reviews bid documents for QA/QC and compliance with standards.
• Guides junior engineers and technicians; reviews their work.
• Maintains project budgets and schedules; attends meetings.
