HVEA Engineers, based in Beacon, NY, seeks a Structural Engineer with 5+ years of civil structural design experience. The role involves calculations, contract drawings, field data collection, and investigations of bridges and walls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with structures coursework.
• 5+ years of civil structural analysis and design experience.
• PE license is preferred.
• Familiarity with ACI and AISC manuals.
• Ability to work independently with limited guidance.
• Knowledge of CAD drafting software and structural analysis tools.
• Experience with NYSDOT Bridge Manual.

Responsibilities

• Structural calculations and dimensioning for beams, walls, footings, and components.
• Prepare contract drawings details; provide plan, elevation, and section views.
• Participate in field visits to obtain data for analysis and design.
• Assist with bridge, culvert, and retaining wall investigations.
• Use CAD software (MicroStation and/or AutoCAD) for drawings.
• Prepare quantity and estimate workups.
• Other duties as assigned.
