Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. is seeking a Civil PE Manager - Land Development in our Wilmington, NC office to lead complex site development projects.

You will manage design, permitting, and coordination across commercial, residential and industrial development, while mentoring junior engineers and building client relationships. Strong NC permitting knowledge and leadership are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 7–15+ years of land development design experience for residential, commercial and/or industrial projects
• Strong knowledge of NC State and local permitting agencies
• Willingness to mentor junior engineers
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Lead project management and design of land development projects, including site development and permitting for water, sewer, grading, erosion control, and storm drainage
• Conduct negotiations and manage client expectations; provide sound judgment on technical and people assignments
• Apply standard engineering practices and innovate where needed
• Support business development; prepare proposals and lead presentations for new work
• Develop and maintain client relationships; serve as main contact with major clients
• Mentor staff and participate in professional development and networking
• Lead project teams; monitor budget, progress, and accounts receivable
• Develop solutions to complex engineering problems
• Prepare reports, proposals, drawings, specifications, and permit submittals in tandem with business development
