Civil PE Manager – Land Development
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Planning, Development and Natural Resources team in the Raleigh & Charlotte, NC offices. This role leads land development design projects for residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
Candidate Location Requirement: Must currently reside in the greater Raleigh or Charlotte NC areas.
What You Need
- BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with NC PE registration.
- 7–15+ years of experience in land development design for residential, commercial, and/or industrial projects.
- Strong relationships and knowledge of NC State and local permitting agencies.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and standard engineering design programs.
- Excellent presentation, technical writing and public speaking skills.
- Strong leadership, team building and communication abilities.
- Willingness to mentor and train junior engineers.
- Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle and criminal records.

- Excellent understanding of all aspects of the consulting business, especially finance, business development, and contract negotiations.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Lead project management and design of land development, including permitting for water, sewer, grading, erosion control, and storm drainage.
- Conduct critical negotiations and handle complex technical & people assignments with sound judgment.
- Apply standard practices, develop new techniques, and implement improvements.
- Support business development: prepare proposals, lead presentations, develop scope of work, estimate time and manpower.
- Build and maintain client relationships; act as key contact for major clients.
- Lead and supervise project teams through all phases, ensuring completion of meetings, communication, budget monitoring, and A/R collections.
- Produce evaluations, reports, proposals, design drawings, technical specifications, and permit submittals to grow the firm’s footprint.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree (required).
