ADVANCED PROJECT SOLUTIONS LLC is seeking a Senior Civil Estimator / Preconstruction Manager to strengthen and modernize our estimating operation in Lake City, FL. You will independently develop complete estimates for civil and heavy projects, working directly with ownership to improve systems and processes behind preconstruction.

We use PlanSwift, Excel, BEAM AI, and other modern tools; you will apply strong judgment and construction experience to shape how we estimate, evaluate opportunities,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of estimating or preconstruction experience in civil, sitework, utility, or heavy construction.
• Independently review civil plans and specifications and develop a complete estimate.
• Experience with digital takeoff or estimating software.
• Strong Excel skills and general comfort with technology.
• Ability to identify missing scope, conflicting information, and project risk before bid submission.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete estimates for civil and heavy construction projects including earthwork, grading, drainage, underground utilities, and site development.
• Review plans, specs, geotechnical reports, addenda, and bid documents for scope and risks.
• Perform and validate takeoffs using digital estimating tools.
• Develop labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and production-cost assumptions.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors to ensure complete coverage.
• Identify bid risks, gaps in scope, and constructability issues; suggest value-engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with ownership to improve estimating templates, workflows, and data.
• Support adoption of AI-assisted estimating tools while ensuring human review.
