Job summary

Imperium Global is seeking a Heavy Civil Senior Estimator in Florida to lead bids, coordinate multi-discipline teams and craft comprehensive pricing strategies. You will oversee take-offs, subcontractor pricing and buyouts, directing submittals and risk analysis for complex projects.

The role requires 10+ years of estimating experience, strong communication, and a track record in large-scale bridge or heavy civil bids.

Job description

I am currently on the search for a Heavy Civil Senior Estimator for an extremely well-established General Contractor in Florida.

As a Senior Estimator you will be responsible for the coordination of bid documents, labour productions, subcontractors, vendor pricing, subcontractor and vendor buyouts, project start-up meetings, owner estimates, subcontractors and vendor requisitions and cost to completes.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly investigates the specifications, scope of work and drawings for his/her portion of a bid and develops a complete understanding of project requirements.
• Accurately and timely performs take-offs and calculations and analyzes data for assigned scope of work
• Conducts field visits to gather relevant data on project site conditions, verify production rates and learn new construction Adjusts bid methods and incorporate this information accordingly during the bidding process
• Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors on the best deal, quality, and delivery using the company buyout procedure.
• Develop pricing strategies for assigned scopes and price the bid
• Serve as Lead Estimator, leading project bids with responsibility for all project price and document submittals
• Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of the contract documents and the potential risks for a project
• Makes decisions on mitigation and price risks
• Interfaces extensively with the Contracts department to address any risks or issues with the contract
• Coordinate with Business Development, Engineering and Operations teams to determine final bid price and construction methodology
• Drafts proposals per RFP specifications with detailed pricing and clarifications
• Instruct junior estimators to perform supporting task for each bid
• Manage relationships with client engineers during project
• Manage relationships with contracted designer on design-build projects

Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating experience
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture,
• Has experience in performing take-off, pricing, and communicating with subcontractors
• Has experience in bidding on large scale specialty bridges, preferably cable‑started bridges
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and people skills a must
• Has a solid time management system and demonstrates excellent organizational skills
• Track record of achievement and career progression
• Experience in Primavera, HCSS, On Screen Take-off (OST) and AGTEK would be advantageous
