Job summary

ADVANCED PROJECT SOLUTIONS LLC is seeking a skilled Sr. Civil Estimator & Precon Manager to lead and modernize our estimating operation. This role requires deep civil construction knowledge, independent estimate development, and collaboration with ownership to enhance preconstruction processes.

The candidate will work with PlanSwift, Excel, and BEAM AI, while applying strong judgment and practical field experience to deliver accurate bids and robust cost models.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of estimating or preconstruction experience in civil, sitework, utility, or heavy construction.
• Ability to independently review civil plans and specifications and develop a complete estimate.
• Strong understanding of labor, equipment, production rates, materials, and subcontractor pricing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete estimates for civil and heavy construction projects.
• Review plans, specs, geotechnical reports, addenda and bid documents for scope and risks.
• Develop labor, equipment, material, subcontractor and production-cost assumptions.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors to ensure full scope coverage.
• Identify bid risks, scope gaps, and constructability issues and propose value-engineering opportunities.
• Work with ownership to improve estimating systems, templates and workflows.
