Job summary

Kiewit’s Central District in the Kansas City area seeks a Sr. Civil Estimator to lead self-performed civil estimates for large-scale infrastructure projects.

You will coordinate with preconstruction and field teams, develop robust quantity takeoffs, and guide bids from design through award. The role requires at least 5 years of civil estimating experience, strong leadership, and proficiency with MS Office and estimating tools (InEight).

Qualifications

• BS in engineering, estimating or similar field; 5+ years in civil estimating for EPC/infrastructure projects preferred
• Experience leading estimates and small estimating teams; coaching/mentoring required
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and estimating tools; eager to learn InEight
• Ability to interact with stakeholders, clients and perform preconstruction functions

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead complete estimates and quantity takeoffs for self-performed civil construction scopes (design/build, design/bid/build, EPC) for infrastructure projects
• Review plans/specs to understand project and plan construction basis for the estimate
• Review proposals and bid documents; ensure estimate alignment with contract documents and legal opinions
• Conduct site investigations to identify problems or unusual conditions impacting estimates
• Collaborate with project managers, design engineers and superintendents to align expectations, phasing and scheduling
