Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Sr. Civil Estimator in the Kansas City metro (Lenexa, KS) to lead self-performed infrastructure estimates for large-scale projects. You will mentor junior staff and collaborate with preconstruction, design, and field teams to ensure accurate, competitive bids.

The role requires 5+ years in civil estimating for EPC or heavy civil projects, with proficiency in InEight and Microsoft Office. Travel to site locations may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering, construction, estimating or similar field (or 10+ years in estimating)
• 5+ years in civil estimating for infrastructure; EPC/heavy civil experience preferred
• Ability to lead estimates and mentor teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating tools (InEight)

Responsibilities

• Lead complete estimates and quantity takeoffs for self-performed civil scopes (design/build, design/bid/build, EPC)
• Review plans/specifications to develop construction approach and estimate
• Assist with proposals and bid documentation; review contracts and legal opinions
• Conduct site investigations to identify conditions
• Collaborate with PMs, design engineers, and superintendents to align expectations and scheduling
• Stay current with industry trends and new equipment/methods
• Lead subcontractor/vendor selection and small estimating teams
• Prepare studies/reports for bid items and coordinate with clients on bid changes
