Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Estimator in the Kansas City metro area (Lenexa, KS) to lead self-performed civil infrastructure estimates. You will work with preconstruction and construction teams on heavy civil, highway, bridge, rail/transit, utilities and related projects.

The role requires 5+ years of civil estimating experience, leadership skills, and proficiency with MS Office and InEight. Travel and site walks may be involved, with a strong focus on accuracy and mentorship.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering, construction, estimating or related field; 5+ years in infrastructure estimating.
• Experience leading estimates and small estimating teams with mentoring.
• Proficient in MS Office and estimating tools; eager to learn InEight.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead complete estimates and quantity takeoffs for self-performed civil scopes for design/build, design/bid/build and EPC projects.
• Review owner plans and specs to build a plan for the estimate and construction.
• Assist with proposals and bid docs; review bid documents and legal opinions.
• Conduct site investigations prior to planning to identify unusual conditions.
• Coordinate with PMs, design engineers, superintendents, clients and other districts for alignment.
• Stay current with industry trends and tools; become proficient in InEight Estimate.
