Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Civil Estimator to lead self-performed civil construction estimates for major infrastructure projects in a Kansas City area office. The role requires 5+ years in civil estimating for EPC/heavy civil work and the ability to mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities include coordinating with preconstruction teams, reviewing plans, and guiding subcontractor selections while advancing accurate cost projections and schedules.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering, construction, estimating or similar field; 5+ years estimating infra experience.
• Experience leading estimates and small estimating teams.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating tools; eager to learn InEight.
• Ability to consult with stakeholders and conduct site walks for estimates.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead complete estimates and quantity takeoffs for self-performed civil scopes (design/build, design/bid/build, EPC).
• Review plans/specs to form construction plan and basis for estimates.
• Review bid docs; coordinate with home office opinions as needed.
• Conduct site investigations to identify unusual conditions.
• Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, superintendents, clients and other districts to align estimates.
