Job summary

Wisestep is seeking a Civil Engineer to join the Plattsburgh, NY office. You will handle technical activities on civil engineering projects for public and private clients, spanning transportation to site development.

The role involves designing, planning, and supervising infrastructure construction, including street and utility design, site layouts, grading, and drainage. The position requires a BS in Civil Engineering, 5+ years of experience (preferred), and proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of civil engineering experience or equivalent
• Professional Engineer license is preferred, or the ability to acquire NY State license within 2 years
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D 2020 is required

Responsibilities

• Consult with stakeholders and management on engineering requirements for construction of various designs and modifications
• Use design software to render and communicate designs; plan and design related systems and structures such as transportation, hydrology
• Direct and oversee junior staff on design or construction tasks when applicable
• Plan projects using drawings, blueprints, aerials, surveys, maps and other data
• Draft and present reports on environmental impact statements and right-of-way descriptions
• Estimate material, equipment, and labor costs for construction projects
• Collaborate with architects and contractors to ensure progress
• Support project completion within budgets and deadlines
