Job summary

The City of New York Department of Environmental Protection seeks a Civil Engineer to supervise staff reviewing House Connection and Site Connection proposals, dewatering permits, and swimming pool permits. You will audit self-certified proposals and ensure compliance with DEP rules and standards.

You will partner with professional engineers and developers to resolve issues, perform hydraulic calculations, and coordinate with City/State agencies to understand applicable regulations for project

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time civil engineering experience.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Current NYS Professional Engineer license is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff reviewing House Connection/Site Connection proposals and dewatering permits.
• Audit self-certified House Connection/Site Connection proposals and ensure compliance.
• Review hydraulic calculations to size sewer connections and flow rates.
• Coordinate with Professional Engineers, Registered Architects, and developers to resolve issues.
• Coordinate with City/State agencies to align rules and regulations with project sites.
