Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) is seeking a Civil Engineer to supervise staff reviewing House Connection/Site Connection Proposals and related permits within the Bureau of Water & Sewer Operations. The role includes hydraulic analysis, coordination with engineers and developers, and ensuring projects comply with DEP rules and NYC regulations.

Responsibilities include overseeing reviews of site plans, auditing self-certified proposals, and collaborating with City/State

Qualifications

Four (4) years of full-time civil engineering experience.
Valid New York State Professional Engineer license.
Current NYS PE registration must be maintained during employment.
Master's degree may substitute for one year of required experience.

Responsibilities

Supervise staff reviewing site and house connection proposals and audit related documentation.
Review hydraulic calculations to size sewer connections and evaluate release rates per rules.
Coordinate with professional engineers and developers to resolve engineering issues.
Audit self-certified proposals and ensure compliance with Department rules and specifications.
Engage with City/State agencies to interpret and apply project requirements.
