Job summary

InterAgency Inc. is seeking a licensed Senior Professional Engineer with extensive pipe experience to support linear water infrastructure program management for DC Water.

You will help plan, assess, renew, and technically review projects, seal deliverables, and mentor junior staff while interfacing with the client. The role requires a PE license (DC licensure preferred), 10+ years of relevant experience, and willingness to travel across the DC metro region.

Qualifications

• PE license required; DC licensure preferred or ability to obtain by reciprocity within six months.
• 10+ years in planning, design, or condition assessment of water transmission and distribution or wastewater conveyance infrastructure.
• Experience translating condition assessment data into renewal recommendations and capital project scopes.
• Strong technical writing and ability to present findings to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Support annual and CIP updates for linear facilities plans using data, hydraulic models, and GIS to identify needs and develop renewal strategies.
• Develop risk-based prioritization and validate scopes, budgets, sequencing, and schedules for linear projects.
• Seal technical memoranda, drawings, and reports; review third-party designs; mentor junior engineers and coordinate with staff and contractors.
• Coordinate inspections, corrosion evaluations, and cathodic protection assessments.
• Plan shutdowns and provide rapid engineering support during mains breaks and emergencies.
