THE POSITION

The Bureau of Design and Delivery is actively seeking a skilled engineer with a robust background in technical writing and knowledge of PennDOT's Publications. This role demands a keen eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills, and a deep understanding of engineering principles, as the selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing and coordinating changes to PennDOT Publications and ensuring that the Publication changes meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be tasked with the reviewing and coordinating changes to PennDOT's Publications. Your role will involve workingwith Department of Transportation (DOT) Bureaus, Department Districts, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and various industry associations to facilitate the review and coordination of PennDOT's Publication changes. This coordination will ensure the technical correctness of the Changes. Your expertise will be essential in providing documents that will be used on all PennDOT projects.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
  • Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
  • Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
