Transportation Engineer 4- Lead Design Engineer. District 6 PN 20059514

What you will do:

  • Acts as a staff specialist in bridge design.
  • Supervises/leads team of lower-level transportation engineers and technicians.
  • Provide training and mentoring opportunities for staff.
  • Signs plans and other engineering documents as a registered professional engineer.
  • Reviews bridge design documents/calculations for in-house design and consultant designed bridge projects.

Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 2 yrs. exp. as group or project leader or supervisor providing work direction & training to employees engaged in engineering projects or 2 yrs. exp. in managing engineering research projects (i.e., managing research projects applies only to staff specialist positions); if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.

-Or licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 3, 85643; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.
