Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources seeks a Senior Civil Engineer (General) for the Northcentral Engineering Office in Emporium, PA. You will lead complex design and construction planning for public facilities and provide technical guidance to field staff.

The role requires experience in advanced engineering design, site evaluation, permit management, and construction oversight, with telework options and a standard 8–hour workday, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate or
• Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty with an EIT certificate and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or related field
• Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
• Valid driver's license required
• PA residency required

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for complex structures
• Visit project locations to gather measurements, soil samples, and other engineering data
• Complete and review hydraulic calculations and obtain required permits and variances
• Apply engineering formulas to complete structural, hydraulic, and watershed calculations
• Monitor construction activities, review shop drawings, and process change orders
