Job summary

Langan is seeking a Senior Staff Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team in Jacksonville, FL. The role focuses on planning, design, and permitting of civil and land development projects, including mixed-use, residential, higher education, and federal sites.

You will gain hands-on experience in site/civil design within a continuous learning environment. Responsibilities include preparing documents, analyzing soils and topography, and coordinating with teammates and permitting authorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT certification; PE certification preferred.
• 3+ years of site/civil design experience including site planning, grading, storm water management, drainage, and soil erosion.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and modification of engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans using engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
• Assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical data from reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs for planning and design impact.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal land use permitting is a plus.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
• Perform other job duties as requested.
