Job summary

Langan is seeking a Senior Staff Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team remotely. This role focuses on planning, design, and permitting of civil, land development, and infrastructure projects across diverse sectors, including mixed-use, retail, higher education, and federal work.

As a key contributor, you will lead site/civil design efforts, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions while adhering to schedule and budget constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required or equivalent.
• EIT certification required; PE certification preferred.
• 3+ years of site/civil design experience including site planning, grading, storm water management, drainage and soil erosion.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to follow directions and work in a collaborative team environment.
• Travel may be required based on business needs and project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans for projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.
• Use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of projects.
• Familiarity with current local, state, and federal land use permitting is a plus.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
• Perform other job duties as requested.
