Job summary

Milwaukee County's Department of Administrative Services seeks a Principal Civil Engineer to deliver civil, municipal, environmental and structural engineering services for Public Works projects. You will lead field surveys, design, and coordination with consultants, manage projects from the capital budget, and supervise junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil/Architectural/Construction) or similar.
• At least one (1) year of Civil, Architectural, or Construction Engineering-related work.
• Must be a current resident of Wisconsin.
• Valid WI Driver’s License during application and maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform field work including surveying and construction coordination for a variety of civil engineering projects.
• Prepare engineering designs, studies, estimates, and reports using AutoCAD Civil 3D; develop plans, drawings, and cost estimates for facilities.
• Lead project management, coordinate with consultants, run bid processes and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and County requirements.
• Communicate complex engineering concepts to stakeholders and support day-to-day civil engineering services for capital projects.
