Job summary

The City of Chicopee's Department of Public Works / Engineering Division is hiring a Senior Engineer that performs professional engineering and administrative duties across citywide infrastructure projects. You will coordinate with contractors, developers, and various agencies, inspect workmanship, and design in-house projects for highways, utilities, and stormwater systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline with 3 years' experience in public works operation, construction, or engineering.
• Massachusetts Class D Driver's License is required.
• Strong writing skills; ability to read and interpret technical literature; knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage citywide infrastructure construction programs coordinating with contractors, developers, City/State/Federal departments, and private utilities.
• Inspect contract plans and specifications to ensure workmanship meets specifications.
• Design in-house projects for highways, site-work, utilities, and other infrastructure with plans, specs, and cost estimates.
