The City of Chico is seeking an Associate Engineer to perform professional field and office engineering work on the city's capital improvement and land development programs. You will plan, design, construct, and maintain public works infrastructure, and coordinate with developers, contractors, and agencies to ensure projects meet standards.

This journey-level role requires independent judgement, strong engineering knowledge, and the ability to prepare plans, cost estimates, and staff reports for

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible professional civil engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field or equivalent.
• CA Driver's License and California professional engineer registration.
• Knowledge of public works, land development, and infrastructure planning.
• Ability to prepare engineering plans, cost estimates, and staff reports.

Responsabilités

• Performs professional field and office engineering work on capital improvement projects.
• Prepares plans, specifications, and cost estimates for public works projects.
• Oversees infrastructure programs like Pavement Management, Bridge, Safety Improvement, Storm Water Master Plan.
• Coordinates with developers, contractors, and other agencies.
• Reviews maps, plans, and permits for compliance.
