Job summary

Apex Companies LLC is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil engineering design projects and drive growth in the Walla Walla market. You’ll balance project delivery with client relationship management, pursuing new opportunities and supporting proposals.

You will collaborate across engineering and environmental lines, delivering multidisciplinary solutions while mentoring staff and advancing Apex’s regional presence. This role offers strong leadership within a national firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in civil engineering and PE registration within a year (Washington).
• 8+ years' experience as a consulting engineer in land development and municipal projects.
• Solid understanding of civil design and construction standards and environmental constraints.
• Proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hydrology modeling, and MS software applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with clients, staff and management.
• Management experience leading and supervising staff.
• Marketing experience writing proposals and procuring projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical lead on cumulative project total >$750K annually.
• Contribute to successful business development of >$250K annually.
• Coordinate project needs with discipline leads and business units.
• Manage design staff on project tasks as lead engineer.
• Provide leadership in efficient and constructible civil design ideas.
• Build and maintain client relationships and ensure objectives are met.
• Participate in professional organizations and functions.
• Estimate and budget labor hours for design projects and review cost reports.
• Manage project financials and billings for projects.
