Job summary

Toole Design Group in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to lead transportation projects from concept to construction. You will collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver multimodal solutions, guide design, and mentor staff.

You’ll drive project communication, support business development across Pennsylvania, and grow as a trusted technical expert while advancing safety and equity in street design.

Qualifications

• Pennsylvania PE license or ability to obtain within six months.
• 10+ years of complex civil/transportation project management experience.
• Strong networks in Pittsburgh PA transportation market, including DOT, municipalities, and consulting firms.
• Proficiency in MicroStation OpenRoads; PennDOT project delivery experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation projects from concept through construction.
• Guide civil design teams on safety improvements and multimodal expansions.
• Collaborate with clients and interdisciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior staff and support team development.
• Lead client meetings and manage project communication.
• Solve complex challenges with practical, buildable solutions.
