Job summary

Toole Design in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to lead high-visibility transportation projects, from quick-build safety improvements to major capacity expansions. You will own scope, schedule, budget and project financials, and guide civil design teams from concept through construction while collaborating with clients and interdisciplinary partners.

You'll mentor junior staff, perform quality control ahead of major milestones, and help grow our Maryland and Mid-Atlantic

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in DC/MD/VA or reciprocal within 6 months.
• Experience leading multi-discipline infrastructure design teams.
• 15+ years in transportation engineering; at least 10 years managing complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of complex, high-visibility transportation projects.
• Own scope, schedule, budget and project financials.
• Guide civil design teams and collaborate with clients and interdisciplinary partners from concept through construction.
• Mentor junior staff and support their growth.
• Perform quality control reviews ahead of major milestones.
• Lead client meetings and help grow our business across Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic.
