Job summary

Toole Design is seeking a Senior or Principal Traffic Engineer to lead traffic engineering design and analysis in Cleveland, OH. You will mentor junior staff and drive data-driven solutions to improve multimodal safety and performance.

You will work on signals, markings, signage, and traffic calming plans, with exposure to corridor studies and Safe Routes to School initiatives. A collaborative, growth-focused culture awaits.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineering license in Ohio (or ability to obtain).
• 10+ years in traffic engineering for Senior Engineer; 15+ for Principal.
• Experience leading design and safety studies; ability to mentor staff.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, Synchro, AutoCAD and related tools.
• Strong understanding of MUTCD standards and geometric design principles.
• Interest in multimodal design and business development.

Responsibilities

• Lead traffic engineering design, signals, markings, signage and traffic calming plans.
• Oversee traffic and safety studies; mentor junior staff and coordinate projects.
• Contribute to corridor studies and Safe Routes to School initiatives.
• Develop conceptual designs for intersections and corridors; manage cost estimates.
• Support business development and build reputation as a trusted expert.
