Job summary

Leap29 seeks an accomplished Senior Civil Engineer / Civil Engineering Consultant to deliver complex, high-value projects across mining, water resources, hydropower and infrastructure sectors.

This senior role goes beyond technical delivery, taking ownership of major projects, advising clients, leading multidisciplinary teams and shaping project strategy from concept through design, construction and close-out. Based in CO, AZ or NV with domestic/international travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• P.E. registration or equivalent.
• 10+ years' experience in civil engineering consulting, ideally mining, infrastructure, water resources, hydropower or major earthworks.
• Strong experience in civil and/or geotechnical design and analysis.
• Track record of leading complex engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience working directly with clients and managing senior stakeholder relationships.
• Experience developing technical proposals, scopes, fee estimates and project strategies.
• Strong technical report writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to assess complex engineering problems and provide clear recommendations.
• Commercial mindset with understanding of project profitability and risk.
• Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to undertake domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of complex civil engineering and infrastructure projects from feasibility through construction and commissioning.
• Act as trusted technical advisor to clients and translate challenges into practical solutions.
• Provide senior technical direction across civil, geotechnical and multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop and review engineering analyses, designs, specifications, reports and construction docs.
• Oversee site investigations, field programs, construction monitoring and technical assurance.
• Provide input into major infrastructure including tailings dams, pipelines, mine infrastructure and hydropower facilities.
• Review and challenge engineering solutions for technical and regulatory risks.
• Manage interfaces between civil, geotechnical, hydraulic and other disciplines.
• Support project managers with scope, programme, risk, and resourcing.
• Lead client meetings, workshops and project presentations.
• Develop scopes of work, fee proposals and technical approaches for new opportunities.
• Support business development and expand client relationships.
• Mentor engineers and develop future technical leaders.
• Represent business with clients, contractors, regulators and stakeholders.
